JUNIOR COMMONWEALTH GAMES 2017 BAHAMAS NAUSSA 

Shannon Russell age 15 at her first international competition swam to a personal best time in the under 17 age group in the girls 200 IM in a time of 2.17.90 long course.

She made finals in the 200 free style - 200 Breast stroke - 50 Breast stroke - 100 Breast stroke - 400 IM each time coming close to medal performance.

Shannon will now head off to Junior Nationals in Toronto next week.

The NI Swim Team flew out this morning to the Bahamas to compete in the Youth Commonwealth Games. Jack McMillan. Rebecca Reid Rachel Bethel. and Shannon Russell accompanied by coach Andrew Reid and manager Linda Stoops. We will post updates so keep following us !!!

Over in the hot and sunny Bahamas the NI swim team have been producing some more excellent performances in the pool.
Swimming in the finals this evening ;
Jack McMillan 100 frs and 50. bk another pb!
Shannon Russell 400 IM
Rebecca Reid. 50 bk
They then got to hold the Gold Coast 2018 Relay Baton - they will all be hoping to qualify for the CWG !!!
